Summer Reading? or Death, Disease, and Disasters

Anyone read Unsinkable about the Titanic? There was a great interview with the author today on Bob Edwards’ Weekend…. Just wondering if anyone has checked it out. I’m working on a reading list for summer and want to know if it would be worth the effort.

Or….any other great summer reads? I’m a fan of many things, juvenile, adult, fiction, non. It really doesn’t matter.

Also, to respond a bit to Alyce’s dark and scary books about disease, I really recommend The fever : how malaria has ruled humankind for 500,000 years by Shah, Sonia.. Sounds gruesome, but really terrific. I think I mentioned it in class, too. But it’s one of those books that I often think about, so there it is.

Death, disease, disasters?  Aren’t those all the things one should not speak of at dinner?

Hope you aren’t eating! 😉
